Terri Edwards has worked in the healthcare industry for over 25 years. Her experience ranges from home health, outpatient, ambulatory surgery, anesthesiology, and radiology environments. Her specific areas of expertise are revenue cycle management, practice operational assessments, managed care contract negotiations, and practice mergers and acquisitions. She also has an extensive background in third-party payer reimbursement.
Terri spent 10 years with a large therapy provider with outpatient clinics and home health regions. She achieved a 50% increase in referrals, decreased admit times to less than 72 hours from receipt of referral, implemented verification of benefits for over 7,000 patients annually in 16 clinics and four home health markets, and started on billing and collection efforts. Terri reduced DSO by 15 days, realized a 10% reduction in denials allowing a decrease of bad debt by $100K, renegotiated 50% of the managed care contracts for an average increase of 100% in net revenue per visit, and added new contracts for payers not being accepted. She is very dedicated to her career, and always looking for ways to improve the business with increased revenue focus.
